In fact, certain conditions may be in relation to the aetiology of an individual’s cause of intellectual disability. As individuals age, the common ageing problems add to congenital disorders. As is general with older persons, there is higher prevalence in the older age groups for certain disorders including visual and hearing disorders, dementia, hypertension and affective disorders.
